Scherzino for Alto Saxophone by Steven Stucky
Stucky Scherzino for Alto Saxophone

King of Prussia, PA – Theodore Presser Company is pleased to present Scherzino for E Flat Alto Saxophone and Piano (144-40649 Score and Part $11.99) by Steven Stucky.

John Sampen and Marilyn Shrude began a commissioning project in 1994 designed to accumulate small samples of the diversity of modern American music - the state of the art. This collection, "Postcard Pieces," would include short works by Joan Tower, John Adams, Samuel Adler, Karel Husa, William Albright, Milton Babbitt, Pauline Oliveros, Phillip Glass, Marilyn Shrude, and more. Stuckys two-minute Scherzino, composed in 2009, was premiered by Sampen and Shrude in 2010 at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. While Sampen and Shrude did not have discussions with Steven Stucky concerning some of the performance issues for the piece, they offer performance suggestions, included in the publication.

Scherzino for Alto Saxophone and Piano is available from Theodore Presser Company and from your favorite music retailer.
