The company was sold to Musikverlag Zimmermann in 1990. Staples of the catalog continue to be Graham Waterhouse, Ruth Zechlin, and Ivan Shekov.
Zimmermann
Musikverlag Zimmermann was founded in St. Petersburg in 1876 and moved to Leipzig in 1886. After moving to Frankfurt in 1949, Zimmermann began publishing Fried Walter, Rio Gebhardt, and Clemens Schmalstich. Zimmermann made its mark in the field of avant-guard flute and guitar music. Maja Maria Reis, daughter of Edith Zimmermann, took over the business in 1975 and added new specialty percussion to the catalog.
Hieber
Edition Hieber was founded in Munich in 1885, publishing the Bavarian songbook known as Klampfn-Toni. Founded in 1979, Edition Chanterelle’s goal was to create a reference catalogue for classical guitarists. Chanterelle’s publications are renowned for their accuracy and high standards in both editorial and production.
