New York, NY – Carl Fischer Music announces the release of Beelzebub (W2683 - Score and Part - $17.99) by Andrea Catozzi, arranged by Curtis Peacock.
Beelzebub began life 130 years ago as an entry in the Carl Fischer Music competition for instrumental solos by well-known New England tubist Andrea Catozzi and has become a challenging staple of the repertoire. The solo follows a theme-and-variations format, with choice elements such as a cadenza, a march section, and a furious finale. Peacock’s band version of Beelzebub with tuba solo gives the big horn the opportunity to step out front. Performance materials are available through rental and this new piano reduction offers the perfect preview or practice accompaniment.
Beelzebub is available now through Carl Fischer Music, or your favorite music retailer.
Esteemed tuba performer, teacher, and music editor, Curtis Peacock, holds degrees in music performance from the University of Washington and Arizona State University. He has studied with famed tubists including Sam Pilafian, Patrick Sheridan, and Chris Olka and has performed around the country as a highly sought after soloist. Peacock’s talents helped him become the first tuba player to win the Frances Walton classical solo competition and his performances have been featured on National Public Radio and Seattle’s KING-FM radio. An active studio musician, Peacock has released multiple jazz and classical albums including, most recently, recordings of tuba works by Hindemith and Haddad. Peacock has also served on the faculty of Central Washington University, Northern Arizona University, BASIS Charter Schools, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
