New Warm-Up Book for Double Bassists Now Available

New York, NY – Carl Fischer Music announces the release of Power Warm-Up for the Double Bassist (BF111 - $16.99 � Score) by Dr. Bill Scott.

Power Warm-Up for the Double Bassist is designed for the serious Double Bass student. It is a comprehensive warm-up routine that allows musicians to slowly stretch their muscles to avoid injuries while at the same time honing fine skills on a daily basis that will reap rewards down the road with an uptick in performance ability. This system focuses on seven fundamental areas of technique with illustrations, flow charts, and shifting block patterns designed to expedite mastery and memorization of essential scales and arpeggios for the developing bassist.

Dr. Bill Scott came to Western Kentucky University in 2003 as the Baker Professor of Music to serve as Music Director of The Symphony and teach applied double bass and string education classes. Prior to his appointment at WKU, he completed eight seasons as Music Director of the Spartanburg Philharmonic and 23 years as the Orchestra Coordinator for Spartanburg School District 7, one of the largest public school string programs in the Nation. Dr. Scott has presented double bass workshops at the MENC National and Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic as well as at state conventions in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He is a published writer in the area of double bass pedagogy and the founding director of two double bass ensembles.
