Theodore Presser Company to Distribute Alias Press

King of Prussia, PA – Theodore Presser Company is pleased to now act as exclusive worldwide distributor of the Alias Press catalog, publisher of the works of Stephen Lias.

The music of adventurer-composer Stephen Lias (b. 1966) is regularly performed in concert and recital throughout the United States and abroad by soloists and ensembles including the Arianna Quartet, the Anchorage Symphony, the Oasis Quartet, the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival Orchestra, the Ensamble de Trompetas Simón Bolívar, the Boulder Philharmonic, and the Russian String Orchestra. His pieces are regularly featured at major national and international conferences including the International Trumpet Guild, the North American Saxophone Alliance, and the ISCM World Music Days. Lias has also served for eleven years as Composer in Residence and Music Director at the Texas Shakespeare Festival.

Lias's passion for wilderness and outdoor pursuits has led to a sizeable series of works about the national parks of the U.S. He has served as Artist-in-Residence at Rocky Mountain, Glacier, Denali, Glacier Bay, Bering Land Bridge, and Gates of the Arctic National Parks, and has written over fifteen park-related pieces that have been performed in such far-flung places as Colorado, New Hampshire, Texas, Alaska, Sydney, and Taiwan. He is the founder and leader of “Composing in the Wilderness” - a unique field seminar offered by the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival in collaboration with Alaska Geographic and the National Park Service.

Although he has earlier publications with ALRY Publications and Warwick Music, Stephen Lias has created an impressive catalog under the banner of Alias Press, including many recent concert works and pieces written under his National Parks series. Read more about Stephen Lias at his website.

Offering music by todays greatest composers and teachers, Theodore Presser Company is the oldest continuing music publisher in the United States, dedicated to carrying out the aims and goals its founder established more than a century ago: service, with integrity, to music and musicians, commitment to quality, and a vision for the future.
